Running with a stroller is the perfect combination of exercising while occupying the children with a run in the stroller, or a walk about town. Did you know that you can burn countless calories running with a stroller, interval training and even jogging? Weeks after the birth, the mother is able to ease back into an exercise program that allows her to lose the weight from baby, get back to into shape and back into her pre-baby wardrobe!

You need to get yourself a good <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/jogging-strollers/"title="Jogging Strollers" >jogging stroller then you can use these tips to make stroller running a safe, interactive and a successful experience:

First, get a stroller that is the right height and that is meant for jogging. Did you know jogging strollers come equipped with larger wheels, strong bases and safety mechanisms to ensure the child’s safety while jogging?

Each time that you stop the stroller, the brake should be applied. Something as small as a tiny wind, a ramp or a small hill can send the stroller ajar, causing danger to the child. Many movements within the stroller also have the capability to move the stroller, causing an unsafe environment for children. Always use the brake when the stroller is stopped, especially on rough terrain!

To increase weight loss, run in intervals. Intervals of one minute walking and one minute running or two minutes walking and one minute running are effective in keeping the heart rate up, burning fat and decreasing weight that came with the pregnancy. Combined with a low calorie diet, weight loss should be a breeze.

If running in the morning, at dusk, or at night, it is crucial that the mom and stroller be dressed in clothing that will reflect light. If your clothing is not equipped to do so, than reflective tape can be purchased at any sports store. This should be applied to the jacket, as well as to the stroller.

Run with a group to ensure that the children will be amused while the adults are exercising. Group exercise could also act as an increase in motivation for the mom to get out and run.

Integrate running into your routine. Start off the morning with a daily run, or before nap time to sooth the baby to sleep.

Remember, when running – the body is prepared to increase in body temperature ten degrees so the runner is able to dress for ten degrees cooler than it is. Be sure to dress accordingly. Alternatively, the children will have to be dressed for the appropriate weather as they are not facing an increase in physical activity which can cause a rise in body temperature.

When running with a stroller, toys, cups and other accessories should be attached to the stroller. Not only can it be an interruption to stop and pick the toy up, but it can be safety hazard if the toy becomes caught in the wheel of the stroller.

Choose a stroller that has an alloy frame, this will last years longer than standard metals – even when exposed to the elements!

Bring snacks and water for yourself, as well as the passengers. It is crucial to maintain hydration while running, especially in hot and cool weather.

Use these tips to start your jogging routine at home. It is an effective way to lose baby weight, gain muscle and fit into your pre-baby clothes. <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/jogging-strollers/"title="Jogging Strollers" >Jogging strollers are available at every children’s store, online and here at pramalot and should be a staple to every new mom concerned about fitness.

With their classic lines and appeal, combined with the designs dating back to the nineteenth century, baby carriages are a classic way to transport your infant while they are able to lie on their back.

Carriages are one of the most expensive types of strollers, with one unit costing upwards of one-thousand dollars. As well as this added cost, they can be difficult to store as they do not fold as well as modern varieties. Carriages can be difficult to push as they are created from metal, making them too heavy for many new moms who are just gaining back their strength after a long nine months.

The benefits to a carriage include the baby being able to sleep while lying on their back, the versatility of the large wheels, as well as the baby being able to face the driver. Often, these carriages are designed with the use of elegant fabrics, used to create a classic carriage look with a canopy.

Many modern carriages allow the bassinet to be removed from the frame, allowing the infant to sleep within the carriage, once moved to a different frame. This allows the child to rest undisturbed, after a calming nap.

Carriages are also commonly referred to as <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/prams/"title="Prams" >Prams.

For the most part carriages are meant for infants who are unable to sit on their own. This means that the infant will grow up and out of the carriage rather quickly, often in less than six months. For this reason, many manufacturers are creating carriages that have versatility to be transformed into bassinets.

Although the <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/prams/"title="Baby Carriages" >baby carriage comes with a safety strap, it is up to the new parent to provide the sides of the carriage with bumpers. Keep in mind that the wheels of the carriage are large, providing good suspension for the baby, but the baby could easily be moved from side to side, and therefore a bumper is essential. When securing the bumper inside of the carriage, be sure to tie it tightly. You do not want the child to be able to grab hold of it and pull it over itself.

Most carriages come without the added safety issue of the child being able to reach the latch which causes the carriage to collapse. This means the child will be safe within the carriage, without the fear of becoming entangled within the stroller.

For mom’s that wish to have that touch of class and old school glamour, a carriage seems like the obvious choice. It makes a statement in any community, and can be found at speciality baby shops, and of course <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/prams/"title="Prams and Baby Carriages" >here at Pramalot!

Many parents prefer this combination of stroller and car seat as they can remove the child from the stroller, into the car seat and than into the home without disturbing the sleeping baby.

There are many benefits to buying a stroller and <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/car-seats/"title="car seats" >car seat combination, these include:

The stroller locks securely into place. Once you hear the locking mechanism the parent can be rest assured that the child will be safe throughout the journey in the stroller.

The sun canopy which comes with the car seat not only protects the infant’s delicate skin from the rays of the sun, but can protect against wind, rain and other elements. This shade also gives the infant privacy.

The <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/standard-strollers/"title="Standard Strollers" >stroller and car seat most likely come with fabric that can be removed from the component and put into the washing machine.

The transition from the vehicle to the home, to the stroller is easier when the child can sleep throughout the process. In the majority of these components, the child is not disturbed by removing, or adding on the car seat to the stroller.

There are hundreds of choices available from hundreds of retailers and brands. Colors, patterns and other choices are easy to choose when there are this many options.

The car seat can often be adjusted to face backwards or forwards. This was, the infant can look towards or away from the parent who is pushing the buggy.

Most of these systems come with adjustable handles, which can be changed depending on the height of the parent that is pushing the travel system.

<a href="http://www.pramalot.net/travel-systems/"title="Travel Systems" >Travel systems offer a high level of convenience for the parents.

Of course, like any other decisions, there are definitely some disadvantages when making the choice to purchase a car seat and stroller combinations that lock together, these include:

These systems can be very expensive. For the travel system you can expect to pay between three and five hundred dollars.

Sometimes, both parts must be bought separately and are compatible within the brand.

It can be difficult to find a rain cover which matches the device.

Some of these devices can be heavy, as the car seat is locked into the stroller device. Sometimes, they can be difficult to push.

Trying to fold the stroller can be difficult, as these types of strollers are not lightweight and take up a lot of room in the trunk of a vehicle, or SUV.

Many parents find the storage underneath of these types of stroller systems difficult to access.

Only two hands and two or three little ones? A multi-child stroller is what you need!
As with single strollers, there are many brands on the market that offer various types of multi-child strollers. There are many things to consider before purchasing this kind stroller.

To start with, you will have to decide what type of multi-child stroller would fit you best. For more information consult our article 'How To Choose a Stroller' or find more information on every single type of strollers by using the left-hand menu. However keep in mind that there is no such thing as the perfect stroller. Most families have more than one stroller so they can change them depending on their activities. If you decide to go for only one stroller you will unfortunately have to put up with some inconveniences.

Deciding whether you need a double or triple stroller is not a problem, but you have to think of the seating design of the stroller.

Stroller for 2
There are three main designs here: tandem strollers (with seats in front of each other), side-by-side strollers (children are seating next to each other), and sit-and-stand strollers.

There are advantages and disadvantages in both models, although most parents tend to prefer side-by-side strollers since it helps to avoid bickering between the children once they are at toddler age. Moreover manufacturers are now making side-by-side strollers which are narrow enough to go through most doors. The side-by-side strollers are suitable for twins but also for a baby and his/her older sibling.

If you would prefer a tandem stroller (also known as a stadium stroller), whether you have twins or not will make the difference! Here you will have 2 choices: the twin and the double strollers.
Twin strollers are made for children of the same age and do not have the same features as double strollers. For example a twin stroller will have two fully reclining seats and you should also be able to attach two infant car seats to it.
On a double stroller, the older child usually sits in the front seat because it does not recline fully.

The sit-and-stand stroller is great if you have a baby and a young child. They consist of one padded and secure seat, and a platform to sit or stand on for the oldest child.

Stroller for 3
Here again, there are two seating designs available: tandem and side-by-side.
As for double strollers, the tandem-designed strollers will be quite easy to maneuver because they have pretty much the same width as a single stroller. However, most of the time, only the back seat can be reclined.

The side-by-side triple strollers let the three children have an unobstructed view of their surroundings. The 3 seats can be reclined to give maximum comfort. Unfortunately, they are very hard to maneuver in tight places such as doorways and narrow sidewalks, because they are very wide.

Strollers for 4 or more
Quadruple and quintuple strollers are available on the market, but they are very few. They are very useful if you have lots of young children or you are running a daycare.
For these strollers, you should look for the same features as you would want in any double or triple stroller.

Another point to consider is the price of the multi-child stroller. Twins and triplets tends to spend more time in their stroller than single babies so it might be a good idea to spend a little more money to buy a high quality stroller that will last a long time and to make sure your little ones are comfortable. The cheapest multi-child strollers cost about $150 but it might be worth spending twice this price if you want your stroller to last a few years without too much hassle. Moreover high-quality multi-child strollers have a higher resale value and are also more likely to get sold!

Before you buy a multi-child stroller
Make sure it folds easily and fits into your car!
Read customer's reviews online to see what people think about their strollers.
If possible, test drive strollers in a stroller shop near your home.
Buy online! The internet is where you will find the best deals.

Regardless of the season a stroller rain cover is an essential when it comes to protecting your infant or your toddler from the elements, especially throughout the spring season or in areas where the weather seems to change quicker than you can get out the rain cover! Use these tips when choosing a rain cover:

Rain covers are made for a variety of strollers and are available where strollers are purchased. Many manufacturers have created plastic stroller covers to fit select models of strollers. Alternatively, universal plastic stroller covers are available but often do not fit as well as fitted covers for specific models.

When buying a rain cover, it is essential that it have proper ventilation to decrease the instance of the plastic fogging up, making it uncomfortable for the infant or the child to be inside of the stroller under the rain cover. Often, the plastic is vented, so that air is able to get in and out but the child is still protected from the water and the elements.

Are there any safety issues that come along with choosing a plastic rain protector for the stroller? First, the rain cover should be snug to the stroller so it does not become stuck in the base of the wheels. Second, when you are using the rain cover for the stroller it is essential that the rain cover not be too close the face of the child. If the plastic is able to move towards the face, the child can become suffocated. It is important to make sure that the rain cover is secured on the bottom of the stroller, on the top and as well as the sides. Making sure that the rain cover cannot be moved, decreases the risk that the child is able to reach, chew on or suffocate on the plastic.

When shopping for a plastic stroller cover, what kind of plastic should you look for? The plastic should be child-safe and free of emitting harsh chemicals.

Rain covers for strollers come equipped with canvas in the areas that are going to see the most wear, such as by the handle bars and the sides. For the most part, other components of the rain cover are going to be made out of clear plastic that the child can see through, and also allow the mother to keep an eye on the child in the stroller.

Covers can be obtained for as little as twenty dollars and are an essential add-on to the string of stroller accessories.

One way or another, everyone gains a little bit of pregnancy weight that they would like to get rid of after the baby is born. With the purchase of a jogging stroller, new moms have the ability to exercise while spending time with the little one, stimulating them with senses that they can find outdoors. Did you know that one of the chief benefits to investing in a jogging stroller is that it can be less expensive than a costly gym membership and be used all year round? When shopping for a jogging stroller there are literally hundreds of options, brands and features. How do you know which one is right for your needs? Use these tips to find the perfect <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/jogging-strollers/"title="Jogging Strollers" >jogging stroller for you.

One of the important features of a jogging stroller is the one-front wheel for versatility and agility in movement. This will be accompanied with two back wheels to provide support to the stroller. When choosing a jogging stroller, there are various types of wheels available from traditional bike wheels, various treads and wheels suitable for various terrains, where will you be using the jogging stroller most? In what situations will you require the jogging stroller to be versatile?

When using the <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/jogging-strollers/"title="Jogging Strollers" >stroller for jogging, it can be beneficial to choose a wheel that is fixed. Although swivel front wheels will provide versatility, a fixed wheel will ensure that you are kept on track while jogging. This is also an important safety feature, we don’t want mom running off the path with a swivel wheel that has gone astray. Many young parents are unaware of the dangers that can come with a swivel wheel, especially if the stroller hits a bump – the stroller can be led astray rather quickly.

When choosing a jogging stroller it is important to determine the proper height, the height that will be comfortable for the new mom or dad while jogging and pushing the stroller at the same time.

Durability is essential in every stroller. Choosing wheels made with alloy, rather than steel will ensure the stroller does not rust, regardless of the weather conditions in which it is used. If you are using the stroller to run through spring weather, and wish to use it for the birth of more than one child – than alloy wheels should be a choice not made lightly.

Next, how long will you be using the jogging stroller? It is crucial that the stroller be adaptable from infant to toddlers, as this not only saves parents money, but provides a range in seating options from straight to a reclined seat. When shopping for a jogging stroller, determine what age groups the stroller is suitable for.

Next, five point safety systems are often present in jogging strollers. This means, the child is strapped in from five different points. This is essential in a stroller that is going to be used in vigorous movement such as jogging.

A tandem stroller allows the children to sit one behind the other, and can be beneficial for parents of twins, or parents of two small children. Tandem strollers allow versatility for the parent, interaction for the children and many other benefits.

One feature that is prominent in many tandem strollers include the reversibility of the handle bar to be switched from one side to another. This allows the mother to have access to both storage, or easily change the direction of the stroller. As well, the seats within the stroller can be adjusted to face each other, or away from each in most strollers, or both facing the same direction.

There are many benefits of using a tandem stroller, including:

The ability to maneuver through crowds, narrow doorways and aisles in the supermarket and your favorite department stores

The added storage under both of the seats which can store diaper bags, purses, shopping bags and all other amentias that the infants and toddlers require

Two children in one stroller give versatility that no other stroller can. Rather than having both parents push a stroller, one parent can rest while the other pushes, or if there is just one parent than it makes life easier.

Tandem strollers can range in price but are often more costly than traditional single strollers. Most often, the seats are fully reclining so the infant is able to be strapped while sleeping, and the stroller can transition into the toddler years.

What kind of handle bars should you use for your tandem stroller? Traditional tandem strollers have curved handle bars which can be difficult to hold on to while maneuvering the stroller, as well, there are three – one on each side and one in the middle of the tandem. Now, strollers have gotten easier to use, and many use a bar across the top of the stroller, so the parent can choose how they would like to grip and push the stroller.

Tandem strollers are available from leading brands at retail stores. Colors, patterns and many other choices are available to customize the buggy. Fabric choices are often child-proof and can be thrown into the washer in case of a spill. Most often, the fabric on a tandem stroller is buttoned to the stroller and can be removed easily, and secured back to the stroller.

Running with a jogging stroller may seem like a no-brainer, but there is more to running with the stroller than meets the eye. After all, running downhill is going to be different than running up hill and running over rough terrain is going got be different that running on a path that has been covered with cement. Use these tips and tricks to learn how to run effectively with your jogging stroller – get in shape while keeping your kids safe.

First, when running downhill, it is essential that new parents and seasoned runners use the runaway strap. This strap allows the parent to keep hold of the stroller in case their hands slip from the handle bars or grips from the stroller. Although sometimes, the strap may seem to cause sweaty arms more than anything – it is crucial! If the stroller were to get out of your reach, especially while running downhill, it would put the children in grave danger.

While running downhill, it is a great chance to increase your turnover time, meaning how quickly you put one front in front of the other. Keep your hands on the stroller at all times, and use the hand brake when slowing down. It is crucial to lean into the brake when attempting to slow the stroller down. When using one hand on the brake, the other hand should still be pushing the stroller, as to not jolt the children or infants within the stroller. In order to successfully use the brake, the front wheel of the <a href="http://www.pramalot.net/jogging-strollers/"title="Jogging Strollers" >jogging stroller must be on the ground.

The brakes should be applied when stopping, and not all the way down the hill. This only causes wear and tear on the brakes, requiring frequent replacements.

Keep good form when running, maintain high posture and do not lose control of the stroller. Keeping pace will ensure that you are not pulling the stroller back towards you or trying to keep up with the stroller, which are both in bad running form and can lead to injuries of the runner. Not a good idea when taking care of children and running with a jogging stroller.

<a href="http://www.pramalot.net/jogging-strollers/"title="Jogging Strollers" >Choose a jogging stroller that you are able to handle with your weight. It is crucial that the stroller be light enough for the parent to handle.

Lastly, ensure that all children are strapped into the stroller using the five point harness systems provided. Periodically stop and ensure that all children are strapped in.

Strollers are great if you have young children. They give you the opportunity to go around with your little ones whenever you want. But beware! For a stroller to be fully practical, it is necessary to use it safely. Every year in the United States, over 14,000 children under five years old are treated in emergency rooms for injuries caused by an unappropriated use of a stroller. Most injuries are to the head and result from falls. And each year, about two children die because of a stroller and most victims are under one year of age.

Strollers are a hazard!
Strollers look pretty straightforward: a chassis, three or four wheels and a seat (or a carrycot for a pram). But if strollers are not properly used there is a risk of suffocation or strangulation for your baby. If the child is not maintained by the harness, s/he might slip through a leg opening and get trapped by the head between the restraint bar and the seat.
Keep an eye on the folding parts of the stroller. Many infants' fingers have been amputated because of these.
Strollers can easily fall backwards if the grab handles are overloaded with parcels and bags, or if the child stands up on the seat.

How to avoid accidents?
Accidents that may happen with a stroller can be avoided in two ways: before you buy the stroller and then when you actually use the stroller.

Before buying the stroller
There are obviously lots of things to consider before getting the right stroller for you and baby (see our Guide to Buying a Stroller) and safety features are one of the things to look for when you buy.

Try to find a stroller with an JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association)or an ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials) sticker on. These strollers meet voluntary safety standards.

Make sure the stroller you are planning to buy has a five-point harness (three-point harness for older strollers if you are buying second-hand. In this case you can also buy a harness separately). The harness have to be strong and durable and also easy to fasten and unfasten.

Check the brake. It has to be convenient to use and locks the wheels.

Check the folding system on the stroller. Make sure th stroller cannot fold up when your child is in it! (There should be a locking device to prevent this form happening.)

If you buy a stroller with a fully reclining seat make sure the legs opening can be closed off so that your child does not slip through.

For a stroller with shopping baskets under the seat, check these are low on the back of the stroller and in fornt of the rear wheenls to ensure a good stability.

Using the stroller safely

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions! Check the fame and infant seat are locked into place.

Every now and then check the overall condition of your stroller.

Always use the harness when your child is in the stroller so that s/he does not fall off. And never leave him/her unattended in the stroller.

Never overload the stroller, espacially on the grab handles so that the stroller doesn't tip over with your child in it.

When the stroller is not in use, always use the parking brake. Also, remember to regularly test the brakes to make sure they work properly with the weight of your baby in the stroller (on flat surfaces as well as on slopes).

Do not use heavy blankets, quilts, cushions or pillows in the stroller as they can cause suffocation.

One stroller may compare very closely to another when shopping for strollers. All are designed similarly and provide the same safety features, come with the same colors and similar designs – which make setting yourself apart from the crowd difficult.

Did you know that there are many ways to customize the stroller to match the personality of the new parents, and the personality of the new baby? There are many things that can be done, such as using stroller pads, stroller covers and accessories to completely change the appearance and make the stroller functional for your entire family. Here are some things you can do to set your stroller apart from the crowd:

There are various retailers on the internet that sell customized stroller pads that cover the entire seat of the stroller and attach with Velcro or buttons through the side to secure the stroller. These stroller pads embrace safety with sections for the safety belts to be looped through, or around the stroller pad. With a variety of colors and designs available, these are a great way to customize a chic stroller while adding padding and comfort to the infant seat.

Accessories are available for the stroller that can change the standard tray I front of the strollers to sectioned trays which make snacks a lot easier, can hold crayons, or even a drink holder! Some of these trays come with loops embedded that allow the parent to attach toys and drinks to the tray, so that they do not pose a safety hazard when being used. If toys or cups fall in front of the stroller they can entice the infant to wriggle out, or cause the stroller to tip if the toy becomes caught in one of the wheels. These accessories are available at baby stores and many online stores as well.

Would you like to transition your stroller to be used in the winter? There are some products available that allow the new parents to attach skis to the base of the wheels, locking the wheels in place enabling the stroller to guide easily over snow, ice and even sleet! This is a must have for the parents that wish to expose their child to the joys of the indoor outdoor life, but don’t want the danger of using a sled for an infant. These attachments can be purchased for as little as fifteen dollars from various infant websites and come with lifetime guarantee.
